About
So, you just came to the site and you don’t feel like reading for 10 hours to figure out what’s going on. Or maybe you’ve actually read it all and you’re still trying to figure out WHY we’re building this car. Either way, the about page is probably a good bet to finding some answers.
The quick summary:
This car started as a beat up, broken down 1995 Subaru Impreza L Coupe. At some point the car had a 1.8L engine and was FWD. By the time I received the car it didn’t even have an engine or transmission in it and it barely rolled (actually, with one of the rear brakes completely seized, it didn’t roll at all). A normal, half-way sane person would have dropped this car off in the junk yard long ago. I on the other hand, had other plans for it.
The plans consisted of tearing the car down to a bare frame, scraping and cutting as much material out of it as possible, and getting the weight down to near record-setting numbers. With that done, a lightweight (yet extremely strong) chromoly cage would be welded in and the entire chassis would be fully seam welded. This would create the platform for a truly special car.
An entire 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI worth of parts would then be transplanted in to this new extremely lightweight and rigid chassis. However, just stock STI parts wouldn’t cut it. Nearly every suspension, braking, aerodynamic, and engine component would come straight from the performance aftermarket.
With the best available parts in one of the lightest and stiffest platforms we are on our way to creating the world’s fastest 1995 Impreza. Which brings us to the question of, “why?” The only answer I have for that is…”Why not?”
