The Stock Motor is History

Everyone wave goodbye to the stock block!

As you can see in the pictures, I used the roof liner from the 95 to cover the carpet of the car. I told people if it didn’t sell in 2 weeks I was throwing it away. I figured I could get some use out of it before it went in the dumpster this way.

Anyway, I just spent the day getting the motor disconnected from the crossmember and tranny. It’s not exactly the easiest thing to do when the crossmember isn’t connected to a car! With an engine hoist, a jack, and some perseverance we managed to get it loaded in to the back of the Suburban. Now the motor is off to be built. I’ll have more specific details on exactly what we’re doing to the motor later, but for now it looks like at the very least:

Machine / hone the block
Forged pistons (coated)
Ported heads
Lightened crank
Cosworth head gaskets
ARP head studs
ARP rod bolts
New rod bearings
New timing belt
New water pump
New oil pump
New seals, rings, retaining clips, etc etc.

Cams and other goodies aren’t completely out of the question either. Like I said, I’ll know the complete details later.

In other news, the KS Tech 83mm MegaMAF intake showed up:

And last but not least, the guy that sold me the Dom 3 is paying for the repairs at Blouch. The turbo will get a brand new 3″ inlet and have the flapper welded shut while it’s there. I’m happy that everything worked out!
