The cage is complete! Right, right…pictures. I won’t even waste your time talking about what we did today, but before we start, just know that there are 20+ pictures so if you’re not on a high speed connection…go take a nap.
This pretty much sums it up:

Two new sponsors have joined the team and a new seat is here and ready to be test fit so we can weld in the harness bar.
First up, The Brake Man will be providing every piece of braking equipment that is going on the car including lightweight rotors, calipers, lines, pads, and fluid.
Next, Cobra Seats will be providing us with 2 Suzuka kevlar HANS compatible racing seats. These seats meet (and exceed) the new FIA 2010 requirements and are made with fireproof fabric. Here’s a few pictures of one of them:

It’s 3:30 in the morning and I just got home from the shop. Today was the longest day I’ve spent on the car yet and I’m definitely glad to say that it’s over. I’ll follow the same format as last time. First you get to see me do the hardest work on the car yet, then you get to see updated cage pictures. Let’s get to it.

First, let’s talk about the last 20 hours of my life. What was accomplished during those 20 hours? Well…4 wheel wells are now free of tar, silicon, sound deadening, and whatever the hell else Subaru sprays in there. It was the worst 20 hours I’ve spent in quite a while so I figured I’d drag you through it before I show you the “fun” pictures.
This is what the wheel wells look like:

Posted by Ben in The Road to a Race Car on March 11th, 2009
I just got back from APR with some goodies.
I immediately took the wing out of the box because I had to feel how light it was. Dry carbon is just amazing…the cardboard box it was in weighed more than the wing. It’s 2 pounds.

First off, let me apologize for the picture quality. I had to take these with my iPhone because I left my camera at home. With that said, here are a few pics of the day’s progress:
Have you ever stood INSIDE of a trunk before? I certainly haven’t. There’s a first time for everything I guess:
